POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for assisting with operational maintenance, troubleshooting, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial / industrial buildings, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties / facilities.

Reliable, focused, committed to building upkeep, and have great physical stamina, He / she is careful and thorough in his / her work, cleaning and tidying the premises with great care and an eye for detail.

Provides maintenance and minor repairs to HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical; may perform routine carpentry work.

Perform both reactive & preventative maintenance

  • Performs some repairs and maintenance of buildings by patching walls and doors, painting walls and trim, and replacing fixtures, damaged ceiling and floor tiles, repairs carpet.
  • Technical proficiency and comfort with troubleshooting various mechanical systems
  • Flexibility to provide critical services as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work requests received; Sense of urgency & personal initiative to succeed
  • Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors by hand or machine; cleans carpet, upholstery and furniture.
  • Washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls, and ceilings.
  • Creates Requisitions and maintains assigned work orders with associated paperwork within computerized maintenance management system to keep stock of needed materials and supplies.
  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms
  • Collects and disposes of waste, and assists in keeping outside premises in an orderly condition.
  • Performs related work as required.

Monday through Friday with occasional weekends

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma is preferred, but not required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 2-5 years’ experience in custodial, commercial cleaning or general labor.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and waxing compounds, and insecticides, floor buffers and custodial equipment, and basic tools utilized in building maintenance; considerable

knowledge of maintenance and repair work; thorough knowledge of proper safety

techniques and procedures.

  • Skill in the operation of a variety of hand tools.
  • Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions, make routine

decisions independently, sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy

physical activity, and work harmoniously with others.

  • Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents.
  • Resilient to cleaning agents and chemicals.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED

Floor buffers, steam cleaners, carpet cleaners, vacuum, mops, broom, dusting

equipment and various hand tools.
