Clark College is currently seeking to fill a Part-time American Sign Language Professor to teach introductory ASL courses.

This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours.

Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

Position Responsibilities

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
  • Pursue professional development.
  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES :

  • Master's degree in American Sign Language or related field.
  • Experience teaching at the community college level.
  • Experience teaching with a Learning Management System (LMS) like Canvas, D2L, Moodle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in a variety of departmental campus activities.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Supplemental Information

SALARY STATEMENT : Lecture hourly rate is $90.47, and lab hourly rate is $77.27.

Under the standard specified in WAC 131-16-070 through 131-16-094 Vocational Certification is a condition of continued employment for all professional technical education personnel.
