Neurologic Critical Care UnitNeuro Critical Care (NCC) is part of Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

The nurses on NCC care for patients suffering from brain injury, aneurysms, and severe strokes. Neuro Critical Care provides emergency services and 24 / 7 customized and monitored treatments to help patients recover from serious neurological conditions.

NCC is a 33-bed unit with a widely diverse neurosurgical, neurotrauma, neuroradiology, and medical neurological patient population, and is one of the largest neurocritical care units in the country.

NCC staff care for some of the highest acuity neuro patients in the state and has the highest number of patient days in all the IUH Adult Academic Health Center.

Nursing skills gained on this unit : * Excellent assessment skills* Critical thinking* Prioritization of care* Neurological assessment skillsQualifications* Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN);

Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.* Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.* Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.* Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit / department specialty according to patient care policies.
