Fuel Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
The Fuel Technician will be responsible with performing a vast number of duties of fuel equipment and general maintenance of supporting equipment in the shop.
Pay Range : $22.00 - $36.00
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and repair fuel dispensers, fuel pumps, site controllers, consoles, tank monitoring equipment, and other station equipment
- Conduct daily fuel station inspections and repairs to include nozzle, hose replacement, dispenser filter replacement
- Analyze equipment issues and determine appropriate action for service and repair
- Maintain, update fuel inventory log and fuel ordering
- Maintain vehicle-mounted pumps, power generators, air compressors and shop equipment
- Adhere to fuel spill control measures, safety, fire, OSHA, and EPA regulations
- Obtain and maintain personal certifications and from original equipment manufacturers
- Resolve warranty calls on dispensers and tank monitors
- Perform after-hours service calls and preventative maintenance on station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems 10% of time
- Provide exceptional customer service by completing assigned duties cost-effectively
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Driver License
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical fuel pump, fuel systems, electrical systems, generators, compressors, or related repair work experience
- Veeder-Root ATG Technician Certification, GVR or Wayne Dispensing Systems, underground tank operator certification
- Pass drug screen, criminal background check
- Must complete County requirement Live Scan
- Must be able to maintain a safety-minded approach on all work performed
- Basic computer MS Suite skills : willingness to learn
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
- Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically based in one of five busy service maintenance garage environments, may require occasional on-the-road maintenance repairs.
Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may also be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
