Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, serving elementary and high school students with adaptive and intensive needs in Bayboro, NC. This contract position offers the chance to work in both self-contained and inclusion classroom settings, supporting diverse learners ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Responsibilities include :

  • Managing a self-contained adaptive classroom for grades K-3 with a caseload of 7 students, primarily serving children with autism and nonverbal learners requiring intensive support, alongside at least two teaching assistants.
  • Supporting an inclusion classroom for grades 9-12 with a caseload of approximately 15 students daily, with potential attendance up to 37 students, providing differentiated instruction tailored to varied needs.
  • Collaborating closely with educational staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Maintaining a positive and structured learning environment conducive to student engagement and growth.
  • Participating fully onsite and working within the primary campus locations for both classrooms.

Qualifications and desired experience :

  • Please hold or be actively pursuing an Adaptive Special Education certification; other certifications may be considered.
  • Experience working with students with autism and intensive needs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage small and large caseloads effectively while personalizing instruction.
  • Willingness to work onsite full-time during scheduled hours.
  • Candidates holding out-of-state certifications are wele to apply.
  • Additional details :

  • Assignment duration : August 18th through May 22nd.
  • Work hours : 8 : 00 AM to 2 : 45 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Position is contract-based for the full school year.
