Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager for our Pediatric Emergency Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an Emergency Department Assistant Nurse Manager you will :

  • Report directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager and independently be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of patient-centered care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while striving to advance your own knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify the Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission and vision.
  • The ANM will work together with the CNM to facilitate, mentor and evaluate others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.

In addition, the Assistant Nurse Manager will continuously assess unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with the CNM, other departments clinical and nonclinical, to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients in a timely manner.

Also, The Assistant Nurse Manager will be prepared to assume the duties of the CNM in her / his absence (off shifts, weekends and holidays).

Qualifications include :

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid Maryland RN license required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Two to three years’ recent experience in the ED or Pediatric acute care experience, prior charge / leadership experience preferred
  • Certification in department-specific area within the first year of the position

Work Schedule :

Full Time : 36 hours per week (three 12 hour shifts)

Night shift : 7PM-7AM

Every other weekend and holiday rotations.
