Position Summary
The mission of the Legal Services team is to provide direct legal services to our most vulnerable community members. We are a multidisciplinary team with Immigration Law, Disability Law, and Family Law units.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with and receive mentorship from attorneys with diverse specialties, credentials, and experiences across these disciplines.
This position manages IRCO's Immigration Legal Services (ILS) program, providing strategic guidance to the program's staff members on delivering immigration legal services to community members of limited means.
The ILS Managing Attorney is responsible for ongoing training and supervision of the attorneys and DOJ Accredited Representatives.
This position will help refine processes and procedures for team training and legal services delivery.
Essential Functions
- Supervise the staff and attorneys of IRCO's Immigration Legal Services program, include providing guidance and mentorship to attorneys and DOJ Accredited Representatives through case review
- Work with the Legal Sector Manager to ensure supportive administrative processes for effective representation
- Represent clients in affirmative and removal defense matters, including naturalization, adjustment of status, consular processing, family petitions, U / T / VAWA applications
- Develop and provide training materials for team members on a variety of immigration matters
- Create / Participate in internal and external presentations on immigration law matters
- Collect data for reporting to funders and participate with funding advocacy where needed
- Contribute feedback to the Legal Sector Manager regarding funding matters
- Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge
Education : Doctorate Degree (Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school)
Experience : 5-6 years of experience in immigration law is required. 2-3 years of experience managing culturally diverse teams is preferred
Licensure, Certification : Must be licensed to practice law
Additional Language Required : English is required, bilingual / bicultural in another language is preferred
Computers : All positions at IRCO require use of a computer and experience working with Microsoft Products including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn other applications as needed.

Salary Description
Starting at $95,000 per year
