Overview :

A prestigious law firm located in Hackensack, NY, is seeking a talented and driven Application Engineer to join our dynamic IT team.

This role is crucial to the seamless operation and advancement of our firm's enterprise applications. While Microsoft and other vendor certifications are preferred, they are not required.

We are looking for someone who is eager to collaborate with our Enterprise Applications Manager and cross-functional teams in IT, Accounting, Marketing, and Records to deliver top-tier technological support and innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

Application Management : Integrate, update, administer, and support a variety of firm management applications, including finance tools (Elite 3E, Intapp, Concur, Iridium), practice-specific software (Aderant CompuLaw), and marketing platforms (Foundations).

System Administration : Oversee the underlying platforms, particularly Microsoft SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Windows Servers, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Project Coordination : Collaborate with different departments during system upgrades and projects, identifying and communicating potential risks, especially when integrated systems may cause downstream effects.

Maintenance & Optimization : Participate in month-end tasks, including Windows updates, SQL maintenance, query optimization, and security patching.

Continuously track and enhance system performance and storage utilization, planning for necessary hardware or software upgrades.

Documentation & Support : Document system configurations, integrations, and processes, including backup and disaster recovery plans.

Create user-friendly guides and resolve escalated support requests from the helpdesk team.

Innovation & Research : Stay ahead of the curve by researching and evaluating new tools and technologies to enhance our current application stack.

Requirements

Qualifications :

Technical Proficiency : Strong command of SQL administration, data queries, and reporting (SSRS) is essential. Experience with Windows Server administration, XML / XSLT transformations, and familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, C#, Visual Basic .

Net, or HTML5 is highly desirable.

Industry Experience : A minimum of 3 years of experience managing and operating accounting, time tracking, billing, and management software in a legal or professional services environment is strongly preferred.

Problem-Solving : Solid technical foundation with proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues independently.

Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, with the ability to effectively engage with staff across varying levels of technical expertise.

Educational Background : A 4-year college degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

Additional Information :

Work Hours : This is an exempt position, requiring flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Attendance during firm administrative leave and closings may also be required.
