Old Redford Academy is hiring a High School Science . Must have a Michigan Teacher Certification with endorsements in subject.
We are searching for a capable and trustworthy science teacher to join our team. The science teachers responsibilities include developing interesting lesson plans and curricula, collaborating with other teachers, completing student assessments, and addressing any performance issues.
Old Redford Academy has new leadership, new direction and a new commitment to academic excellence. The academy is a tuition free, Pre-K to 12th grade academy that offers highly qualified teachers, free transportation, one-to-one student technology, an expansive athletic program, and a rigorous curriculum that is both standards based and culturally responsive.
We are looking for dedicated teachers that will allow all students to contribute to classroom learning by sharing and gaining knowledge from each other.
The Old Redford Academys philosophy is based on early work of Dr. Maria Montessori Method of Teaching which has a focus on educating the whole child.

Responsibilities :
- Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students and classes.
- Setting up demonstrations and assisting and supervising students while they conduct experiments.
- Establishing classroom, and lab rules and regulations and ensuring that all students understand what is expected of them.
- Grading tests, assignments, exams, and other assessments, and communicating with parents, students, teachers, and counselors regarding underperformance and other concerns.
- Assessing student needs and providing support or extra resources to struggling students as well as exceptional achievers.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Ensuring all curriculum, school, and state requirements are met.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Bachelors degree in teaching or relevant field.
- Michigan Teaching Certification with endorsement.
- In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
