Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to students with diverse needs, fostering communication skills that are essential for academic success and social interaction.

The SLP will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assess and evaluate students' speech, language, and communication skills to identify areas of need.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on assessment results.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs within the classroom.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert recommendations and updates on student progress.
  • Stay current with best practices and new developments in speech-language pathology.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards of practice.

Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Illinois State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology (formerly Type 73 Certification) required to work in Illinois schools.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Requirements :

  • Passing a background check and fingerprinting as required by the state of Illinois.
  • Continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
