Project Manager - Building Management and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems

Lead the successful execution of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) projects from initiation through to completion. This role is responsible for ensuring that projects align with defined scope, schedule, and budget requirements while delivering high-quality outcomes on time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage BMS and EPMS initiatives, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, general contractors, and vendors through active participation in weekly meetings and daily communication.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Controls and Installation Technicians, establishing field priorities and resolving on-site challenges.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of control panels, meters, gateways, and other critical devices.
  • Interpret and validate construction drawings, technical specifications, and schedules of values.
  • Administer billing processes, pay applications, RFIs, and submittals using Procore and client-specific systems.
  • Monitor project risks and implement corrective actions to maintain construction schedules.
  • Enforce safety protocols and quality control measures, especially in data centers and mission-critical environments.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial construction (oil / gas, refineries, mining, auto manufacturing, heavy factories, or large-scale data centers).
  • Proven record of managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, safety, and quality on major builds.
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction means and methods in electrical, mechanical, or controls.
  • Experience with Procore, including RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and client billing workflows.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Active Ignition Certification.
  • Experience with Ethernet, Modbus, Ignition, and low voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and software development.
  • Work Environment

    The role involves active industrial construction site exposure, including dust, noise, heat, and weather changes. Expect daily use of laptops, tablets, Procore, and schedule management tools.     Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00 / hr.
