Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Summary :
Alameda Elder Services is currently seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our healthcare facility in Alameda, California.
As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist in providing high-quality physical therapy services to our patients.
The PTA will work with a group of patients with varying needs and conditions.
Compensation & Benefits :
This is a full-time, hourly position with a compensation range of $37 to $42 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with employer match, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement within our growing company.
Responsibilities :
- Assist licensed physical therapist in evaluating patient's condition, assessing progress, and developing a treatment plan
- Assist in implementing treatment plans that include exercise, massage, and other therapeutic techniques
- Document patient progress and communicate updates to the treating physical therapist
- Educate patients and families on proper techniques and exercises to facilitate recovery and prevent further injury
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy area and monitor equipment inventory
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the patient receives well-rounded care
- Stay current with developments in the field of physical therapy and attend continuing education courses as needed
Requirements :
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current and valid PTA license in the state of California
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of and experience with various therapy techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Prior experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
