This job contributes to Starbuck's success by directing a team of in-house and outsourced architectural designers responsible for producing design documents for retail store development within the region of Latin America and the Caribbean for renovations and new stores.
Ensures that design and construction documents are consistent with company design objectives and architectural and quality standards while communicating and executing the Company's brand image in an international region.
Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
As a director of store design, you will
- Manage design process for renovations and new stores.
- Drive and implement Starbucks’s design strategy across the region.
- Lead our design team while supporting our licensees.
We’d love to hear from people with :
- 10 years of experience leading a team of architects and interior designers.
- 8 years of experience hiring and managing outside consultants.
- 8 years of experience leading teams and developing partners (employees).
- 8 years of project management experience.
- 5 years of experience in retail or hospitality design.
- Previous experience presenting to large groups.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, and other architectural programs.
- Prefer working knowledge of Spanish.
- Willing to travel 30% both internationally and to Seattle.
