Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Credit Manager at our corporate office in Richmond, VA. This position will be responsible for the day to day activities of the Corporate Credit Department, which includes helping establish credit policies and standard practices that contribute to the maximization of sales volume, customer stability, and the protection of the company's account receivable investment.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for extensive communication with senior management, sales management, customers, corporate, and branch personnel, including working closely with Accounts Payable personnel.
Your additional responsibilities Credit Manager will include :
- Supervise Credit department staff, including time sheet administration
- Assist internal and external customers with questions and problems
- Provide guidance to credit staff with their day to day duties including answering questions, advising, and performing their job duties when required
- Handle the collection of the larger national accounts
- Assist in the implementation of credit policies, procedures, and practices that govern the daily operation of the credit department
- Assist in the training and education of the credit department staff
- Respond to telephone inquiries and assists in solving questions related to the status of customer accounts; documents status of collections efforts
- Analyze credit reports, financial statements and references to approve and set credit limits on new accounts using company policies, practices, and procedures
- Review accounts set ups to ensure that they are correct
- Send out monthly past due reports to sales and the divisions with updates
- Advise Director of Credit of potential problem accounts
- Send out communication to customers
