Job Description : PURPOSE OF JOB :
PURPOSE OF JOB :
To perform all activities related to hot food preparation of meals for patients, cafeteria patrons and catered functions, constantly striving to improve the quality of products prepared and served.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Prepares meals for patients (300 per day), cafeteria patrons (800 per day) and assist with the food production for catered functions as necessary.
Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time. Reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron, and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
Uses and cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, the actual kitchen facility under the direction of the supervisor. Equipment includes-tilt fryer steamers, steam kettles, ovens, warmers, mixers, slicer, buffalo chopper, food processor, fryers, grill and knives.
Follows in-depth recipes and utilizes in-depth production techniques, proper food handling techniques and following HACCP.
Good preparation techniques utilized. Completes all safety training and adheres to safety procedures in daily operations.

Education
Able to read, write and communicate fluently in the English language.
Typical Requirements :
Education or Equivalent Experience : High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
Supervisor / Managerial Experience : None
Function Specific Experience : 1 - 3 years of related work experience.
Food Service or other hospitality related experience preferred
Other Skills : Able to perform the following
Good working knowledge of food preparation
