About The Position
Job Title : Neurophysiology Technologist II Job Specialty : Neurophysiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM, 4 Days / 10 hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday).
Off Wednesday unless covering call or holiday coverage. Guaranteed Hours : 40 Experience : None specified, but graduation from a Neurophysiology or Neurodiagnostics program OR a minimum of 1 year of experience with Neurophysiology Tech II competencies is required.
License : Neurodiagnostics Technologist certification or Neurophysiology Tech II competency achievement required. Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have : Ability to provide outstanding patient care- Some general knowledge of physiology- Good verbal and written communication skills- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians- Basic knowledge of computers- Fluency in English (Speak, Read, Write)- Neurology / Epilepsy knowledge Job Description : Assist in the performance of a variety of Neurophysiology procedures under direct supervision.
- Responsible for performing competently two or more modalities of Neurophysiology studies, including EEG, EMU, LTM, ECI, and other studies.
- Prepare and educate patients and maintain the Neurophysiology department.- Troubleshoot and clean equipment, ensuring patient safety and promoting evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
- Train and perform as a preceptor for new hires, assisting Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Managers, and other Technologists as needed.
- Responsible for setting, adjusting, and operating equipment during procedures.- Function in other areas within the Neurophysiology department as needed, including the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
- Care for all age groups, setting up and preparing patients for Neurophysiology studies, and completing post-study paperwork.
- Adhere to hospital and departmental guidelines during patient care, attending and participating in educational, departmental, and required meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.- Schedule includes rotating between different locations and on-call duties during weekends and holidays for patient monitoring in surgery.
