Position Title : Facilities Maintenance Technician

Overview : The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and assisting in the operational efficiency and safety of a commercial building.

This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and addressing facility-related issues to ensure a comfortable and productive work environment for all building occupants.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct routine inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems, to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on building equipment and systems, such as changing filters, lubricating moving parts, and testing safety devices.
• Respond promptly to service requests and work orders related to building maintenance, repairs, and emergencies.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, including but not limited to HVAC malfunctions, lighting problems, and plumbing leaks.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, installations, and maintenance services as needed.
• Monitor building automation systems to optimize energy efficiency and ensure proper operation of heating, cooling, and lighting systems.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and procure necessary items in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular inspections of building grounds, parking areas, and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Assist with building renovations, remodels, and tenant improvements by providing technical support and coordination of maintenance activities.
• Uphold standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety in all maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or vocational training in facilities maintenance, HVAC, or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems, equipment, and codes / regulations related to commercial buildings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of maintenance issues.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, for maintenance and repair tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with tenants, building management, and external service providers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must have a valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as required.
• Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces when accessing building systems and equipment.
