As a bartaco Sous Chef, here’s a look at what you’ll do :

Our Sous Chefs are responsible for the daily leadership and operations of the kitchen, by providing professional leadership and direction to the culinary team by ensuring that all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the restaurant's specifications and commitment to quality.

  • Work closely with the executive chef to ensure we are serving food that meets bartaco’s standards for quality
  • Create memorable dining experiences that exceed guest expectations
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Coach, lead and develop your team
  • Perform calmly and effectively in a high-volume environment
  • Ensure that the team properly follows all bartaco standards
  • Manage shifts which include daily decision making and effective planning
  • Perform daily compliance checks including line, safety / sanitation.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and purchasing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with the hiring and training processes of all kitchen teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Required :

1-3 years of culinary management experience.

A culinary arts degree is preferred, but not required.

Excellent cooking skills.

Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the team.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Physical Skills Required :

Able to tolerate long periods of time working on foot / standing up.

Able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

Able to work in a kitchen environment that may result in exposure to heat or cold.

Salary Description Starting at $60,000
