Overview

Provide support to the Human Resources department in administering HR processes and programs for Kenworth Managers and Employees. Will serve as a contact for HR department, manage pieces of the employee recruitment & on-boarding process and other employee programs, participate in executing department initiatives and projects. This role will be responsible for managing the schedule for the location's Tours, Events, Employee Engagement activities, and Community Outreach programs.

Requisition Summary

Provide support to the Human Resources department in administering HR processes and programs for Kenworth Managers and Employees. Serve as a contact for HR, manage parts of the employee recruitment and on-boarding process, participate in department initiatives and projects, and manage the schedule for Tours, Events, Employee Engagement activities, and Community Outreach programs.

Human Resources – Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Provide support and customer service to employees regarding various HR topics. Use problem-solving techniques to research employee questions.
  • Participate in executing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Promote positive employee relations and engagement by coordinating employee appreciation programs and events.
  • Support recruitment activities for plant shop floor employees.
  • Enter employee data into HRIS and produce reports as necessary.
  • Tours

  • Manage / Coordinate Tours at Kenworth Truck Company, including scheduling and processing tour requests for internal / external customers (approximately 400+ tours per year).
  • Manage / Coordinate events at Kenworth Truck Company (VIP events, sales events, classes, appreciation events, celebrations, recruiting events, retirement parties, service anniversaries). Event sizes range from 5 to 2,000 people.
  • Coordinate Community Outreach and Charitable Donation activities for company-sponsored agencies and local events.
  • Maintain budgets for tour / event activities; ensure logistics are on-time and within budget.
  • Set up and prepare media equipment, manage conference rooms / office spaces, and configure equipment to meet event needs.
  • Prepare publications and communications for tours, events, and engagement activities (e.g., weekly newsletter, SharePoint graphics, flyers).
  • Be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must be reliable with dependable and regular attendance.
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned; may support Health & Safety, Training, and Plant Manager functions.
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • BA / BS Degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Previous HR experience preferred, including HRIS exposure.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office, SAP, Publisher, SharePoint); graphics software experience (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Publisher) desirable.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Dependable, organized, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to lead groups, provide excellent service, build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and written / oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • Salary Information

    The salary range for this position is $59,600-$81,900 annually. The role is eligible for a full range of benefits listed above.
