Scientist- Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become a member of the Institutional Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This facility is extraordinarily supported by Institutional funding rather than grant-based funding to enable a wide range of services provided to all of St Jude investigators and is equipped with state-of-the-art conventional and spectral Flow Cytometry equipment including 8 cell sorters and 12 cell analyzers.

We focus on moving science forward instead of cost recovery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with investigators across all departments to move the mission forward and will also have the potential to train individuals institution-wide.

Job Responsibilities :

• Stay updated on the latest techniques to develop and optimize data analysis methodologies.
• Performing advanced data analysis using specialized software and interpreting results to provide insights to researchers.
• Provide training and support to users on data analysis software and techniques.
• Collaborate with researchers on assisting experimental and panel design, sample preparation, data analysis, results summary, and related manuscript writing and editing.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data analysis.
• Maintain accurate records of data analysis procedures and prepare summary reports
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.

Minimum Education and / or Training :

Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required.

Minimum Experience :

• Seven (7) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required
• Five (5) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree
• Three (3) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a PhD

Preferred skills and experiences

• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience in cell sorting, performing high-parameter panel design, and data analysis is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of users.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Eagerness to learn and implement new techniques.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86,320 - $154,960 per year for the role of Scientist- Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource.
