The Role

  • Engineering Managers help bind Engineering to business objectives and are responsible for increasing the probability that good customer outcomes are unlocked as we build and maintain software.
  • They help people achieve career objectives by understanding them and marrying them with opportunities, balancing this with business needs.
  • Engineering Managers understand technology well, specifically system design, and can engage in fruitful discussions on ideas and proposals.
  • They achieve through others and derive a sense of accomplishment when their teams do well.

Engineering Manager : Identity

  • Organizing the team to set technical direction for Identity.
  • Working closely with Product Management and Design to establish process and product direction, including quarterly OKRs.
  • Balancing demands for operational completeness with those for business growth.

Engineering Manager : Foundation

  • Organizing the team to set technical direction for Foundation.
  • Aligning Data Engineering with Product Engineering.
  • Being glue for execution (e.g., organizing cycle planning, standups, retros).
  • Helping people on your team grow in their careers.
