The Assistant / Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Engagement will be responsible for a portfolio of annual impact reports.

This position is responsible for project management; timeline and deadline management; writing, editing, proofreading, and design of content;

survey and template layout. They will coordinate the outreach to recipients of endowed and current-use funds, with a portfolio primarily focused on faculty reporting and will gather letters, data, publications, content, and updates regarding their funded research or projects.

Additionally, they will participate in donor engagement events and activities.

This position oversees the transfer of information related to our database, oversees updates on beneficiary records, and authorizes changes to information about the funds.

This position works closely with the senior associate director of reporting and will also be responsible for coordinating with School Development partners on Stewardship & Donor Engagement initiatives within assigned schools.

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and for the Associate Director Level, 5-7 years of professional experience; for the Assistant Director Level 2, 3-5 years of professional experience;

and for the Assistant Director Level 1, 1-3 years of related experience working in a complex fundraising operation, preferably within a higher education setting in a capital campaign environment.

Competitive candidates will possess a demonstrated understanding of core fundraising programs and strategies including knowledge of the process and practices for receiving major gifts, in general, knowledge of cultivation and stewardship vehicles, including some knowledge of donor fund accounting and fund administration, and possess the ability to build and sustain stewarding information and services to help advance the fundraising work of the organization.

The position requires a working knowledge of project management processes, web-based platforms / communications, including survey creation, email merges, etc.

An understanding of the University’s mission and the role it plays in advancing donor relations is also required.

Candidates should have strong project management skills and follow-through necessary to develop plans and timelines, monitor priorities, and progress against goals.

Demonstrated analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and an ability to plan, organize and perform multiple duties with minimal supervision, with a high degree of accuracy, keen attention to detail, and follow-through under tight deadlines.

Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment involving high-level stakeholders; ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, and strategic, and is highly engaged in working collaboratively with a team.

They possess strong editing skills and the ability to think critically and convey complex academic work in an engaging, professional manner.

The candidate anticipates opportunities and possesses a high level of follow-through on opportunities and projects. Experience with project management and the implementation of elements of complex projects is desired.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication, and technical skills are essential. The candidate should exhibit discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential donor and student information.

Candidate exudes a professional demeanor when dealing with colleagues, donors, and students. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google platform, and an understanding of Adobe Suite and InDesign software.

Familiarity with project management tools and the ability to navigate CRMs such as Blackbaud, Mythos, or other fundraising databases is preferred.

Must be a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.
