Job Description :
The Neonatologist will be responsible for working closely with other healthcare specialists. This Neonatologist will cover 4 beds in a Level II NICU and the 10 intermediate care beds. The position provides care for the diagnosis and treatment of newborns with conditions such as breathing disorders, infections, & birth defects. This position will coordinate care and medical manage newborns born premature, critically ill, or in need of surgery.
The Physician must be American Board certified or Board eligible in Neonatology and must possess a valid State of Texas medical license. The Shannon Womens and Childrens Hospital is a multi-level facility and currently at 85,000 sq ft. Once construction is completed the facility will be over 100,000 sq ft. The units will be a Level II Labor & Delivery, Level II Special Care Nursery, Mother / Baby, Gynecology, and Pediatrics. The expansion is focused on consolidating services as well as focusing on expanding to a Level III maternal and neonatal care in the future.
