Job Summary
Serves as subject matter expert and conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation. Prepares and crafts various complex documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations.
Trains undergraduates, junior lab members, and research technicians. Manages laboratory policies and coordinates high-level work and project development in collaboration with other specialists.
Essential Functions
o Acts as a subject matter expert in molecular neuroscience and conducts independent, developmental scientific research projects from inception to presentation, including planning, organizing, conducting experiments, assessing protocol feasibility, processing, and analyzing data, and conference presentations.
o Prepare manuscripts, research proposals, articles, grant applications, work for publications, and presentations based on research results.
o Train postdocs, grad students, undergraduates, and / or research technicians in molecular biology wet lab techniques and in biological imaging techniques.
Provide postdocs and graduate students working on behavioral neurophysiology projects with hands-on experimental and technical guidance in using molecular neuroscience tools to advance their research projects.
o Recommend, draft, and manages wet lab and imaging laboratory policies and procedures.o Facilitate high-level project development in collaboration with nationwide consortiums, including Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) and the BRAIN Initiative Armamentarium for Precision Brain Cell Access, as well as industry and academic collaborators.
