Job Summary :

Managing a team of Account Executives throughout our Southeast Region while also being responsible for collaborating with brokers / consultants on the development and execution of client centered strategies.

Manages book of business and directs the work of a multi-disciplined service team. Manages policy quotes and is the carrier liaison for assigned clients / groups.

Regularly interacts with new and existing clients while being responsible for devising creative solutions to meet client needs as to coverage and costs.

Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant accounts including but not limited to negotiation of product pricing, interviewing clients;

collecting and analyzing information regarding the client and assisting in product and pricing determinations; affecting, interpreting, and implementing various company policies regarding the specific factual circumstances of each client.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Managing a team of Account Executives while maintaining a book of business.
  • Responsible for overall strategic planning for the year and renewal decisions along with scheduling quarterly meetings, employee group meetings, new enrollment new hire sessions for stakeholder awareness.
  • Schedule and lead internal information sessions on client file status, current and upcoming events, forecasting changes, or adjustments for team alignment.
  • Utilize and maintain the annual client calendar to execute target dates, renewal schedules, and expectations for compliance and alignment of goals.
  • Guides clients and internal team members on compliance and regulatory policies to meet industry standard requirements and provide monthly claim reports from carriers to all clients.
  • Oversee the status of wellness strategy and programs for clients, along with support to promote monthly incentives or varied programs offered by carriers to offer clients.
  • Review the open enrollment process and ensure proper changes, financial and annual review for year projected, and medical costs to determine benefits cost for employees.
  • Support clients with renewal and insurance communication for employees and provide guidance for learning webinars, video tutorials with brokers to ensure proper launch strategy for the clients.
  • Assist with escalated client issues and partner with claims department when necessary.
  • Partner with the legal team to communicate changes or updates per regulatory requirements and be the liaison to the clients on any policy or industry mandates.
  • Request and monitor the census report from the Marketing team to complete the underwriting questionnaire and provide additional information from the carriers and send it to clients.
  • Meet regularly with brokers to keep up with industry standards, insurance products, current rates, coverages, insurance policies, and carriers, so you can assist clients, underwriters, account executives, and the rest of our service team with understanding and addressing the newest rules and policy updates.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with producers, company underwriters, and wholesale brokers and attend marketing strategy meetings for new business with brokers and selected internal team members.
  • Manages RFPs, non-renewals, and cancellation requests to retain business where appropriate and acts as the lead representative to an assigned book-of-business.
  • Strategically guides the client through the decision-making process and assists the Account Managers with specific escalated claims issues to locate a solution for the client / group.
  • Establishes multi-year strategic plan development and presents to client / group and manages the financial information and is responsible for renewal negotiation.
  • Prepares and presents renewals by partnering with the internal Marketing team for census reports, client / group data, and drives calendar meetings and events for the team.
  • Shows thorough knowledge in Underwriting, Compliance, Cobra, HIPPA and other regulatory requirements to best accommodate the client / group's needs.
  • Continuously strive to further personal education of the insurance industry and associated coverages.
  • Selects carriers for solicitation and negotiates with carriers for benefit and premium considerations and complies with complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity expectations.
  • Supports Fully Insured, Self-Funded, and Captive Groups.

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Associate or bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years related work experience and valid insurance license.
  • Leadership skills and desire to manage a team in addition to accounts
  • Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal.
  • Must have extraordinarily strong follow up, written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates should have basic computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint, etc.)
