As an Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant, you support this mission by applying a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of functional limitations, impairments, and disorders. This position will be primarily based at South Rehab, which offers specialized services such as aquatic therapy. This role is critical in ensuring patients feel at their best, empowering them to take control of their treatment. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days varying between 8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m.

In this role, you may occasionally be required to provide coverage and float to other locations as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Implement patient treatment following evaluations by a Physical Therapist with a thorough understanding of the procedures and goals.
• Discuss possible changes in the treatment approach with the supervising therapist and assist in the preparation of a new program.
• Assume responsibility for the care, safety and well-being of patients during assigned acts and observe all necessary precautions and procedures in the use of equipment to prevent the delay of the healing process or to avoid injuring patients.
• Provide appropriate documentation for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
• Maintain and care for all equipment and apparatus.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the department and ensure economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.
• Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
• Assist in the on-the-job training of ancillary personnel.
