Scope of Role :
Responsible for assured supply of materials, equipment and services, in addition to competitive costs, minimizing inventories while ensuring optimum materials utilization and supplier performance.
Provide technical procurement support for the Corning Specialty Materials Keene, New Hampshire operations and visional procurement support as deemed appropriate. Responsibilities :
- Buying of supplies, packaging, electronic components, metals, optical machined components, metal machined components, metal finishing services and plant services.
- Supplier Relationship Management - specified suppliers and outsourcers or supporting role for suppliers managed by other Corporate / Division supply management professionals
- Commodity and sourcing expertise to support supplier identification, qualification and development
- Interpret mechanical, optical and electrical engineering drawings, and have a good knowledge base of mechanical machining processes
- Cost Reduction / Cost Savings Portfolio Management
- Inventory Management
- Performance Excellence process participation and leadership on key projects
- Assist the Global Supply Management (GSM) and Division supply management strategy deployment
- Lead and / or support the Source to Pay (STP) process
Skills Required :
- Proven negotiations and contracting skills
- Self-starter
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Team Player Additional Requirements :
- Individual must be willing to reside within daily commuting distance of the Keene, NH plant
- Individual must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Green Card holder in order to support ITAR controlled government programs within the plant and business unit
Education :
- 4 year degree
- CPSM, C.P.M., ASPICS or other certification is a plus
- Lean and Six Sigma are desirable
Years of Experience :
Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing operations with procurement experience
Travel Requirements :
- Minimal travel outside the U.S.
- Potential 25% travel within the U.S.
Hours of work / work schedule :
Normal 40+ hours per week - 8 : 00am - 5 : 00 daily
