Eaton’s IS AER HQ division is currently seeking a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Aerospace Segment. This role can be based out of the following Eaton locations : Grand Rapids, MI, Galesburg, MI, or Southfield, MI.
Relocation is provided within the United States.As the Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer in the Aerospace segment, you will be the cornerstone of engineering excellence, conducting meticulous assessments of compliance with systems, rules, and processes.
Your role is crucial in certifying that all control system software upholds the stringent standards and requirements of both Eaton Aerospace and external regulators.
In this capacity, you will scrutinize projects and products to ensure they meet the exacting industry and regulatory standards that define the aerospace sector.

Compliance Assessments : Evaluate engineering development activities for adherence to regulatory, industrial, and company standards, including MIL-HDBK-516, RTCA / DO-178B / C, RTCA / DO-254, RTCA / DO-330, RTCA / DO-331, SAE ARP4754A, and support AS9100 Quality Management System audits.
Documentation Review : Examine technical documents to confirm they fulfill Quality and Compliance requirements.QA Plans and Instructions : Create detailed Quality Assurance plans and instructions to guide the execution of QA functions.
Root Cause Analysis : Investigate issues using established procedures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Status Reporting : Deliver comprehensive status reports and data to leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Record Maintenance : Manage Quality records, collect metrics, and provide reports to inform business decisions.Stakeholder Interaction : Engage with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to maintain productive relationships.
Guidance and Training : Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and training on quality processes and standards.Objective Evidence : Produce and preserve evidence of assessment activities for customer and regulatory scrutiny.
Business Liaison : Serve as the intermediary between Eaton and DER, aligning engineering approaches with certification activities and exploring business expansion opportunities.
Qualifications : Basic (Required) Qualifications : Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Electrical, Electronic, System, Computer, or Computer Science Engineering.
A minimum five (5) years’ experience in new product development engineering.A minimum of three (3) years in embedded software development or process assurance.
