Your missions :

Job Summary and Purpose :

The Campus Project Director will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring various aspects of Vaccine Manufacturing project(s) with specific focus / experience for aseptic manufacturing technique.

The incumbent will be a key member of the Campus Executive Leadership Team and will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

The responsibilities of the Campus Project Director will include the design, build, validation, approval, and start-up of a new Marek’s vaccine manufacturing building.

This building is aimed to bring automation and robotic technology to the Ceva Lenexa campus while increasing our overall manufacturing capacity for Marek’s vaccines.

Their key duties include project planning and execution, decision-making, communication, compliance and adaptability.

Responsibilities and Key Duties :

Project Planning and Execution :

  • Run the project portfolio according to strategic objectives. Is responsible for portfolio execution and alignment with the strategy of the organization.
  • Select, prioritize and coordinate projects as a portfolio to increase value to the organization.
  • Participate in improving project management and portfolio management processes and best practices.
  • Developing project plans, setting goals, and determining tasks and schedules.
  • Accountable for project success across multiple facets (cost, schedule, scope).

Cross-Functional Team Management :

  • Assembling and managing project teams.
  • Lead and motivate the project teams. Maintain a strong relationship with project members by regularly aligning the team about portfolio decisions.

Decision-Making and Communication :

  • Making effective decisions when faced with multiple options.
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams working on the same project.
  • Alignment with the functional leaders to ensure full compliance to all Quality, Regulatory and HSE standards.
  • Ensure change control procedures are in place to allow any changes being made to have full compliance approvals by the various functional leaders.
  • Adjust schedules and targets as needed based on project changes and unforeseen complications.

Technical / Functional Competencies :

Technical Project Management : Adapt with discernment & Execute project methodology to ensure project objectives can be met efficiently in the right sequence within project constraints (time, budget, quality, etc.

on large & strategic projects and programs.

  • Business Knowledge : Is knowledgeable in the area(s) applicable to the project / program domain - products / processes / data / tool.
  • Cross-Functional Team Management : Experienced in building & leading team(s) of people with different skill sets towards a unified goal.
  • Stakeholders Management / Communication : Drive & influence stakeholders that are impacted by the project / program to clearly define expectations, deliverables, and objectives.
  • Strategic & Business Vision : Embrace & endorse the organization strategic objectives and translate them into operational projects and programs.
  • IT Project Management Tools : Challenge, develop and implement monitoring tools and lead / coach others to define and adapt review and monitoring tools.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in a biological science field (i.e. microbiology, virology or immunology preferred) or in a business field with applicable experience in a related field.

Work Experience : Minimum of 15 years working in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Campus Leadership role or similar experience in large product portfolio management.

Experience managing or leading large projects is required.

Other : Must possess Aseptic Manufacturing experience.

Physical Requirements :

  • Able to read, write legibly, and communicate in English.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Frequent repetitions of bending, twisting, lifting arms above head, wrist and shoulder movements.
  • Daily dressing and operating in clean room required garments and PPE.

Working Conditions :

  • Clean room manufacturing laboratory.
  • Hybrid working arrangement is available.

Travel Required :

20% international and domestic travel required.
