Medical engineering manufacturer is seeking a Director of Operations to lead their current production team. Leadership and technical hands on experience is required.
ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom manufacturing for mechanical, medical, aerospace, automotive or industrial product development. Responsibilities :
- Leads the Assembly Operations & Quality department including people and resource management
- Provides department management oversight to achieve efficiency, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Provides training, performance feedback, and management support to team members
- Promotes high quality, collaborative team performance
- Schedules and oversees all assembly builds (new builds and rebuilds / repairs)
- Manages / maintains Assembly parts inventory, and department tools and supplies
- Reads blueprints and BOM’s to verify the parts required prior to assembly
- Coordinates with purchasing to order parts or materials needed for assembly or repairs
- Actively participates in the assembly of our products according to prints, specifications and customer requirements
- Establishes department quality standards and related processes to ensure consistently high-quality output
- Verifies quality of purchased components and works with Purchasing to resolve any issues
- Reviews any quality issues and improvement opportunities with management on a regular cadence
Qualifications :
- 3-5+ years experience as a Director of Operations
- Bachelor's of Engineering with technical background
- Experience building custom equipment or similar technology
- Experience working on a manufacturing floor
- Preferred industries : Medical Device
