Position title : Neuro Clinician, Basic or Translational Salary range : The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and / or step.
The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $250,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position description
The Department of Neurosciences () at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is recruiting for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels.
UCSD Neurosciences seek candidates to join its renowned team dedicated to cutting-edge basic and clinical research on neurological diseases, spinal cord injuries, brain tumors / defects, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Opportunities include teaching, mentorship, patient care, and scholarly activities at a top-ranked Medical School. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop funded research programs, provide research leadership, and collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and clinicians, including those within NIH-funded centers.
Candidates will be responsible for providing high quality training and teaching and will participate in basic or translational research and / or the clinical care of patients.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a PhD in Neurosciences, Neurology or related fields and / or MD or equivalent.
Candidates with a MD or equivalent must have completed Neurology or similarly related training, and be Board eligible or certified in Neurology or related fields.
Candidates with a MD or equivalent must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification / permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with experience in areas such as Neurobiology, Epidemiology, Neuroimaging, Neuropathology, Biomarkers, or Behavioral Neurology / Cognitive Neurosciences of Neurological Disorders or related fields are preferred.
