We are seeking highly motivated Systems Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Huntsville, AL.
The selected candidate will review, develop, test, document and implement software requirements. GMD is the United States' anti-ballistic missile system for intercepting incoming warheads in space, during the midcourse phase of ballistic trajectory flight.
It is a major component of the American missile defense strategy to counter ballistic missiles in defense of the homeland.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience.
- Applicants must have and maintain an active Government security clearance at the DoD secret level; and a minimum of an interim secret clearance will be required to start.
- Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C, C+ +, or Ada.
- Interest and experience in using math and physics software applications and tools
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience, interest, and aptitude in developing software focused on command and control threat tracking, track correlation, discrimination services, and reporting services
- Experience, interest, and aptitude in complex missile defense algorithms, associated software implementation, discrimination techniques, track correlation, and track processing.
- Interest and aptitude in designing and implementing software to solve complex algorithmic math and physics-based engagement planning problems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or related field.
- Experience with international sensors and fire control systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel.
- Proven communications skills with armed services & government customer.
- Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition.
- Development utilizing a Linux based development environment.
- Knowledge of various scripting languages and tools : Python, MATLAB, etc.
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
- Experience with Missile Defense Systems and Sense & Fire Control systems.
- Experience working on CMMI Level 3+ programs.
- Interest and aptitude in designing and implementing software to solve complex math and physics based engagement planning problems.
