Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Knowledgeable of the MTSS process.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with students and parents
- Organizational skills and high attention to detail; written and oral communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the development and implementation of 504 plans.
- Supports the schools assisting in the oversight of the 504 and MTSS services.
- Coordinates data collection as it relates to MTSS and 504 programs.
- Reviewing cases in preparation (MTSS packet) for determining eligibility for ESE services.
- Working collaboratively with school based MTSS Leads.
- Convening meetings with parents, administrators, and educators to make recommendations for next steps upon reviewing the Multi-Tier System of Support data.
- Provides professional development to school-based administrators and teachers on Gifted, 504 and MTSS programming and compliance.
- Assists with pre-FTE reviews and required follow-ups.
- Monitors the student record system to ensure that appropriate information is kept current in student record folders as related to 504 and MTSS.
- Collaborates with the Area ESE Program Director to oversee and ensure the implementation of all state and federal regulations related to special education policies and procedures.
- Attend all meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and Area ESE Program Director.
Job-Specific Skills :
- Organizes files in cumulative files as required by county / district
- Assists Principal or designee in preparing for school annual monitoring review audit for specified areas as outlined below.
As the Interventionist :
- Providing Tier 3 Instruction utilizing research-based, approved curriculum resources. (reading / math)
- Providing Tier 2 Instruction utilizing research-based, approved curriculum resources
- Attending county / district trainings as required for job description
- Completing lesson plans / Intervention documentation sheets to document fidelity of interventions.
- Providing after-school tutoring.
- Providing social skills support as a behavioral intervention
- Providing supports as outlined on students IEP (for areas in the Supplementary Aides and Services Section) e.g., a student that needs supervision to and from classes
- Engaging in Data PLCs and Collaborative Plannings
- Completing small-group accommodation testing for benchmark and statewide testing
As the MTSS Coordinator :
- Completing MTSS Documentation as outlined below.
- Problem Solving Worksheets-MTSS-Academic
- Problem Solving Review Worksheets-MTSS-Academic
- Functional Behavioral Assessments-MTSS Behavior
- All Functional Behavioral Assessment supporting documentation.
- Graphing all data (academic and / or behavioral)
- Preparing data documentation sheets for homeroom teachers
- Completing data recording sheets
- Preparing for Student Records Reviews
- Completing Fidelity of Observations
- Observations of students
- Observations of students interacting with Tier 1, 2, and 3 Instruction
- Providing recommendations for research-based intervention strategies and resources
- Communicating with district and contracted services personnel
- Serving as the scheduling liaison among school-based and district teams (e.g., CED, Contracted Services, Admin., Teachers)
- Submitting Request for Services packets for initial evaluations (ESE)
- Coordinating Small Group Accommodation Testing in collaboration with the Assistant Principal
As the 504 Coordinator :
- Completing all 504 Evaluations
- Initial Evaluations
- Annual Reviews
- Reevaluations
- Attends all district / county required trainings
- Preparing all 504 Accommodation Logs
- Distributing logs to teachers
- Organizing, filing, and retaining logs
- Preparing and distributing Receipt of 504 Accommodation Plans Document to appropriate personnel
