Full Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

A mission-driven health and wellness company is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help build a cutting-edge telemedicine platform aimed at improving mental and physical health.
This role offers the flexibility of being based in Los Angeles (Santa Monica) or remotely within U.S. time zones. The company focuses on delivering content, community, and clinical support through innovative digital health solutions, backed by strong investors.
You’ll work with a collaborative, high-performing team using modern technologies and best engineering practices.
What You Will Do
- Write and deliver high-quality code across the codebase, contributing to the development of full features with support from the team.
- Ensure system reliability and quality by employing unit tests, integration tests, TDD, and regular refactoring.
- Focus on data management and security to protect customer privacy at all times.
- Contribute to improving software quality, performance, and team efficiency by identifying and addressing issues.
- Influence and enhance internal engineering standards and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and product ideas into software designs and releases.
- Participate actively in product iteration and development to create a compelling customer experience
What You Will Need to Succeed
- 5+ years of experience in software development, especially with public-facing consumer web applications.
- Expertise in front-end technologies such as React / Redux / ImmutableJS.
- Strong experience with back-end development using Ruby on Rails.
- Proficiency in unit and integration testing.
- Previous experience or interest in pair programming.
- Familiarity with queue / background processing or third-party integrations (e.g., Stripe).
- Knowledge or interest in Event Sourcing and functional programming patterns.
- TDD experience.
