Management and Program Analyst
Summary This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division (FC), Office of Resource Management (FR).
This position(s) primary purpose is to evaluate the DEA's organizational structures / substructures of Headquarters, domestic fields, and foreign offices.
Key position for ensuring organizational consistency with critical and extensive analytical oversight for organizational, staffing and payroll issues.
Responsibilities As a Management and Program Analyst, your typical work assignments may include : Serving as an analyst or advisor to management on mission or administrative programs requiring application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Assisting with a variety of administrative duties such as : budget methodology and control; statistical research and performance measurement;
- information systems; management techniques and theories; organizational structure and studies; planning and control systems;
and public and congressional liaison. Preparing and directing the preparation of correspondence, reports, graphs, and charts to effectively present findings and recommendations in a comprehensive manner.

Applicants applying for the GS-11 must meet one of the following requirements : A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-09 grade level.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.
g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following : 1) Serving as a participant in projects regarding re-engineering organizational processes;
2) Understanding human resources management to include position management, position descriptions, and organizational structures 3) Supporting on administrative matters such as budget, payroll, and human resources.
OR B. 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree; or Ph.D. Or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR C. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
