CHRISTUS Santa RosaHospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital servingthe fastest growing area of San Antonio.
Specialized care includesorthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women’s services, a newbornnursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to openheart surgery, vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, theCHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, andmore.
The campus also boasts an Outpatient Imaging Center and threemedical plazas, one of which houses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa FamilyMedicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family HealthCenter.
Responsibilities :

- Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standardsof Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process,including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention andevaluation for assigned patients
- Addressesincreasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and socialneeds of patient and families in accordance with their level ofpractice
- Using the appropriate protocol, administersmedications and treatments; monitors for side-effects andeffectiveness of the treatment prescribed

- Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, familymembers and / or care givers; identify issues and resources

- Perinatal RN Residency, or recently practicingin a Perinatal Setting is preferred.
- 1 year ofexperience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
Education :
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing,preferred.
- All newly hired experienced RNsmust attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days ofhire.
- New hires are precepted by adesignated trained staff member and initial on-boardingrequirements are validated through successful completion of thedesignated organizational entry competency validation and aPerinatal Department-specific competencyvalidation.
- Completion of all annualcompetency verification requirements.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations :
- RN License in state of employment orcompact
- BLSrequired
- Current certification from NCCElectronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or one of the following AWHONNcourses : Intermediate FHM, Intermediate FHM Instructor, AdvancedFHM Instructor, or Instructor Trainer at time of hire forexperienced nurses;
within 6 months of hire for new graduates andexperienced nurses new to the specialty then required to maintaincourse certification thereafter.
- Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire for experiencednurses; within 90 days of hire for new graduates then required tomaintain certification thereafter.
- Current NRPcertification at time of hire for experienced nurses; within 60days for new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialtythen required to maintain certificationthereafter.
