SUMMARY

Provides leadership and manages a team of Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers within the Program Management Office as directed by the PMO Director in the delivery of development and commercial API projects.

Performs as Project Manager on projects assigned by the Director of the PMO. Drives to meet project objectives across area of responsibility including time, cost, and quality targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads and creates a high performing team of Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers in a competitive CDMO environment.
  • Audits the performance of development and commercial API projects managed by your team to identify situations requiring escalation;

projects that are at risk of missing scope, schedule, or financial targets; or PMs in need of mentoring or training; and provide the necessary guidance to realign the project.

  • Escalates and resolves project resource constraints with other department managers, while maintaining a collaborative relationship between departments.
  • Works with PMs and other department leaders to identify root causes of project milestone slippage for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Acts as PM on one project delivering in full, on time, and right first time.
  • Supports and guides the professional development of your team members, including establishing performance goals and individual development plans as well as conducting performance evaluations.
  • Supports the harmonization of the Global PMO initiatives.
  • Provides backup to the PMO Director as needed.

LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for providing team leadership and tracking of PMO budget. Also responsible for project budget oversight and tracking.

Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with Corden policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or other science-based degree preferred. Other demonstrable experience may also be applicable.

Ten years managing project teams for the delivery of quality projects within scope, on time, and on budget. Ten years of advanced scientific experience within the pharmaceutical industry or a combination of pharmaceutical industry and applicable regulated experience.

Understanding of project management deliverables and methods including their development and maintenance from a pharmaceutical perspective.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and analytical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to site and global leadership.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent PMI certification is required.

  • Excellent verbal, writing, interpretive, presentation, and interpersonal skills across a wide range of audiences
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and resolution with strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

SALARY

Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
