Five Star Parks & Attractions is looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing. The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the selling, planning and coordinating of all aspects of events at the location.

Accountabilities :

  • Develop market segments and solicit new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships.
  • External markets may encompass corporate events / meetings / trainings, birthdays, and personal milestone events; (other may include holiday parties, school athletic banquets, and fundraisers).
  • The Events Sales Director will be an ambassador for the property, fostering relationships with individuals & corporations who book events to maintain repeatable and predictable business while prospecting for new events.
  • The role extends externally from the park to trade shows and other public events, which heighten awareness within the community and is also responsible for marketing of the park and being a positive role model in both social media formats and public forums by being active and showing consistent participation in all public-facing opportunities.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maximize event revenues to meet and exceed sales goals and budgets through the sale of groups of 10 guests or more and increase yield through effective negotiation of tournament product and tee time utilization.
  • This position works closely with the General Manager and Operations team when designing menus and event scheduling for upcoming events.
  • S / he is responsible for generating a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals which meet and exceed sales goals and budgets.
  • This position operates as a dual person sales office with salesperson management required.
  • Must be able to build a team of people using teaching, coaching, and mentoring strategies that align with the Five Star Brand and methodology of sales leadership and culture.

Skills / Competencies Required :

  • Knowledge of how to use social media to drive sales is required : Including LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM.
  • Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required.
  • Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired.

Education, Qualifications and Experience :

  • College degree preferred or 3-5 years of related experience in sales preferably in restaurant / hospitality / service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a positive, engaging, and team-oriented view on the workplace.
  • Must be willing to work weekends if business dictates a need or opportunity that must be handled by the ESD.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, talk, read, write, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

May be required to lift or move objects up to 20 pounds.
