Homeless Solutions, Inc. (HSI) (www.HomelessSolutions.org) is a leading private non-profit organization which has been helping the homeless in Morris County, NJ since 1983.

Our goal is to provide people with the tools and surroundings they need to rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient, "A Hand Up, not a Handout.

What sets our non-profit apart from others is our continuum of housing options from emergency shelter through transitional housing and affordable rental housing, which combined with supportive services, maximizes the chance of success in becoming and remaining housed.

In 2023 alone, 517 people received shelter, housing and outreach services, including 193 children. Nearly 29,670 meals were served at the shelter and 71% of families that graduated our transition housing program secured permanent, affordable housing.

Homeless Solutions has grown substantially since its inception. However, there continues to be a growing wait list of homeless and housing insecure households seeking shelter and homeless services in excess of our current capacity to provide.

There are many reasons for the rise in shelter needs, including cost of living, lifting of the moratorium on evictions, lack of affordable housing, domestic violence and substance abuse.

The President and CEO will lead HSI through its next period of growth and scale to meet these challenges while maintaining fiscally healthy and responsible finances and organizational health.

We are searching for an experienced professional to serve as our next President and CEO, to be responsible for developing and driving HSI's strategic vision and leading the organization in fulfilling HSI's mission while promoting the financial and organizational health and public profile of the organization.

The President and CEO will ensure that HSI's fiscal operations, fundraising, marketing, human resources, technology and programmatic strategies are effectively implemented across all segments of the organization.

Compensation Range : $180K - $240K base salary; potential for additional discretionary award at year end based on performance

Preferred Experience, Capabilities and Expertise include :

  • Strong financial management, strategic vision and planning skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, team building and organizational management skills
  • Ability to advocate for the mission of the organization among both public and private sources of revenue
  • Fundraising and campaign / major gifts experience
  • Experience in management of a non-profit agency or similar business
  • Experience and knowledge of residential housing programs, affordable housing regulatory requirements, particularly as these relate to New Jersey, and housing development
  • Advanced degree

Full time permanent staff of Homeless Solutions are eligible to enroll in fully paid medical, dental and life insurance coverage plans in accordance with HSI policies.

In addition, all staff are eligible immediately upon hiring to participate in a 401k retirement savings plan, including up to a 6% company paid match.

Generous PTO plans include paid personal, vacation and sick leave as well as 10 floating holidays annually.
