Job Summary :

We are looking for a talented mechanical engineer to create, implement, oversee, and improve manufacturing processes as well recommend and implement facility improvements that assure adherence to product requirements.

This team member must be able to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, with the ability to transfer the process to future contract manufacturers as required.

The mechanical engineer's responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.

To be successful, you should be able to work effectively within a team and have a high level of technical expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Create and / or assist in the development of all new products, manufacturing procedures, and other manufacturing needs.
  • Develop, analyze, and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency (e.

g., identify areas for improvement).

  • Educate, train, and supervise new employees on current manufacturing and workflow processes.
  • Communicate with team members and work as part of a team to gather feedback about manufacturing challenges, then integrate feedback into future designs.
  • Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes follow all government laws and regulations.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide data as required to enable management to better understand current and future requirements.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs.
  • Determine problem resolutions and implementing improvements.
  • Oversee and assess existing processes and workflows.
  • Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
  • Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes.
  • Conducts risk assessments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

Job Qualifications :

  • 2-5 years’ experience in designing and manufacturing with a focus on process development and taking products from conception to low-rate initial production to high-volume production.
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical products with engine design preferred.
  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and / or Industrial Engineering.
  • Ability to review and understand engineering drawings / blueprints and GD&T.
  • Experience using CAD or CAM software a plus.
  • Society of Manufacturing Engineers Certified Manufacturing Engineering Certification or similar certification a plus.

Miscellaneous :

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
  • Ability to lead and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of equipment for purchase, installation, and repair.
  • Ability to persuade others to change existing practices.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
