Job Description

  • Hybrid Position. Offices in Milwaukee, Chicago and Kenosha

SUMMARY : Construction Management Associates is seeking a Construction Estimator to join their estimating department. The ideal candidate will have experience with Commercial / Multi-Family Construction projects, with Residential experience being a plus. The primary role involves preparing accurate estimates and take-offs, reviewing construction documents, and analyzing data for project costing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Estimate projects based on received bids
  • Analyze cost data for materials and labor
  • Ensure project requirements are met, including compliance with IHDA, WHEDA, Disadvantaged Business requirements, labor and hiring standards, design criteria, and municipal regulations
  • Post upcoming projects for bidding, receive and analyze bids, and update spreadsheets
  • Maintain and update the cost database for multiple projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and trade partners
  • Coordinate with team members and trade partners on project updates
  • Assist in improving estimating processes and procedures

    • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience as a Construction Estimator
  • Technical college degree, 4-year degree, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of new construction, historic renovation, and multi-family projects
  • Understanding of construction methods, building codes, and ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and software such as Building Connected, One Team, Plan Grid, BuilderTrend, and Smartsheet
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills
