Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assign individual project(s) and duties to the project managers and ensure proper staffing levels to support current and future projects.
- Make strategic decisions and provide leadership and direction to project managers to implement those decisions.
- Review and fully understand the project scope, requirements, and associated contracts.
Create and execute project work plans and schedules within budget and project specifications.
Manage the team's day-to-day operational aspects of a project to ensure on-time delivery; including, but not limited to, fiber network design, permitting, material delivery, construction management, purchase orders, invoice approvals, system readiness, network operations acceptance and close-out packages.
- Provide accurate reporting and forecasting of all project timelines and required resources.
- Serve as the point of contact with internal and external stakeholders with prepared reports, progress updates, answering questions, resolving issues and managing change requests to project scope and plans for all construction projects.
Foresee potential risks and propose mitigation solutions that will allow the projects to stay on track and on budget.
Work closely with the OSP Engineering and OSP Operations teams to ensure alignment with the delivery of construction-ready packages for a smooth transition to construction and the ongoing communication back to engineering to incorporate field changes.
Coordinate with Client Fiber's Community Development team on initial meetings with the individual market(s) for project kick off and throughout the project as needed to ensure there is cohesive communication with the city stakeholders and residents.
Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate the delivery of pre- and post- construction marketing materials to notify the community of Client Fiber's intentions to bring fiber based high-speed internet and promote the new service offerings.
Approve project invoices and work with the Accounting team on timely progress payments in compliance with contract payment terms.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and industry regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend process improvements to enable better project performance, improve forecasting, shorten time to resolution, increase resource efficiency and decrease cost.
- Evaluate and recommend a project management application (s) that can support the overall project tracking and provide real-time reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, telecommunications, business administration, or equivalent in a related field.
Previous Project Management experience with 5+ years' experience in telecommunications with a strong preference for managing projects involving OSP fiber design and construction.
Previous experience leading a team of project managers across many simultaneous projects.
Knowledge of Telecom construction and engineering, project budget creation and management, project scheduling and tracking, project finance, cost reporting, and field office operations.
PMP or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to manage big picture concerns and details as needed, prioritizing tasks and delegating effectively.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
Ability to work with different functional groups and all levels of employees to achieve results effectively and professionally.
Proficient in MS Office software and general project management and ERP applications.
- Ability to Work with Google Earth KMZ's and KML's.
