Mid-Level Mechanical Designer

Description :
This position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing you to work some days in the office and some days from home.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams to develop mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3-D model.
- Tackle challenging assignments related to mechanical system design, troubleshooting, and resolution of various mechanical design issues.
- Utilize 3D modeling software tools (including Cadworx ) to create mechanical design schematics.
- Participate in coordinating detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated mechanical design model.
- Provide timely and complete mechanical design deliverables, including general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings.
- Opportunity to accompany and assist Sr. designers and engineers during field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
- Mentor less experienced drafters and designers, offering guidance in the use of drafting tools.
Qualifications :
- Associate’s Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- Three (3) or more years of detailed physical design experience in developing mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
- Proficiency with design software tools for executing 3D plant layout models (including Cadworx ).
- Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, and coordinating associated deliverables.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering and design teams across disciplines in power plant design.
- Valued but not required : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field, proficiency with MicroStation.
