Job Summary :
The Health & Safety Specialist will work part-time (1 day per week), onsite at our facility to support EHS initiatives.
Job Duties :
- Support management / supervision to ensure all site associates understand and comply with all applicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately.
- Maintains safety systems, policies, and procedures for the site.
- Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards.
- Conducts accident investigation and provides recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
- Acts as Company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety, health and environmental matters affecting the site.
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Compiles and submits required safety, health, and environmental reports to corporate and regulatory agencies.
- Assist with managing contractor EHS compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related) is preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on EHS experience, ideally chemical handling
- Proficient computer skills (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
- CSP or CIH certification ideal or OSHA 30-hour certified.
