PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position ensures that our financial reporting and oversite is accurate and effective by working closely with a team of accountants to oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department, including but not limited to the management of : Accounts Payable, Costing, and Fixed Assets and that all Internal Controls are followed.

This position is also responsible for managing the work and performance of the Cost Accountant and the Staff Accountant.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily transactions, such as accounts payable, expense reporting, fixed assets, and inventory reporting.
  • Participate in financial and other audits.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing including Parent Company reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the daily performance of direct report(s) as well as their development.
  • Reconcile revenue, organize financial data, and maintain complete records.
  • Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives.
  • Ensure that Internal Controls and Accounting Policies and Procedures are followed.
  • Ensure legal compliance.
  • Special Projects as assigned

Requirements

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Supervisory Experience.
  • Experience with an ERP accounting software package and consolidation reporting package.
  • Consolidation reporting package.
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas)
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP and IFRS), laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Accounting / Finance and 5+ years' experience as an Accounting Manager or leader within an accounting department; or equivalent.
  • Accounting certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) is a plus.

This position is primarily based out of the company Headquarters in Durham, NC.

Listen and communicate using both verbal and written feedback. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Maintain a high level of consistent cognitive function.

Perform consistent keyboarding / computer use in a typical office environment for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.

Frequently move about the office.

Stoop, kneel or crouch when maneuvering in an office environment.

Lift up 50lbs at times.

Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or meet the requirements for a medical or religious exemption.
