Job Description

The Family Health Centers seeks a skilled and reliable Medical Assistant or LPN to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing various medical and administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operation of the clinic or medical facility.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates need to be able to work in any of our three locations including : Asheville, Arden, and Candler.

Responsibilities :

  • Greet patients and escort them to the examination rooms
  • Take patient medical histories and vital signs
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records systems
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
  • Assist with patient education and provide support and guidance as needed

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred
  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical record systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
