We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Merchant Manager with responsibility for developing product and customer merchandising strategies that drive product category growth to join our Merchandising team.
In addition to developing merchandising strategies, the Merchant Manager is also responsible for delivering or exceeding budgeted volume and profit goals by incorporating competitive intelligence, customer knowledge, fashion expertise, and business acumen.
Key Accountabilities :
Creates and owns holistic product strategy that meets / exceeds company financial targetsIdentifies merchandise trends and opportunities, and translates appropriately into realistic merchandise strategiesEnsures overall product assortment meets financial plan targets and addresses consumer needsDevelops assortment buy plans and partners with planning team to ensure purchases align with sales targets and omni-channel inventory needsProvides direction and input to design and product development partners, to ensure that overall assortment needs and specific product attribute requirements are met and supportedProvides direction and input to merchandise financial plans created by planning teamDevelops complete program strategy including pricing, promotional price cadence, markdown plans and timingManages business to meet company targets on gross margin, sales, sell through, markdowns, inventory levels, and turnDirects merchandise projections and flow schedules to ensure timely and constant flow of merchandiseMonitors in-season performance against plan and directs action for improvement as necessaryUtilizes end of season analysis and data to optimize seasonal assortments, merchandise flow and promotional plans going forwardPartners with Marketing and Store Operations teams to ensure efficient communication related to new product launches, product stories, and promotional and store eventsDevelops and manages assistant merchantInteracts at all levels with cross-functional team partners to execute business objectivesLeads with discretion and autonomy to resolve all issues or obstacles within the scope of workSkills / Abilities / Experience & Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required5+ years' experience as a successful Retail Merchandise Buyer with a national chainExperience in buying Men's Apparel preferredSound analytical, financial, strategic and problem-solving skillsSuperior communication and organization skillsHigh level of initiative and ability to execute independently with minimal directionAbility to create and maintain a collaborative and dynamic team environment with diverse groups of peopleProficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)Physical and Mental Requirements :
Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of timeAbility to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basisAble to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionallyMust utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipmentHours regularly 40 hours per weekCOVID-19 Vaccine Policy :
