This job posting will be used to fill one (1) part-time vacancy within the Minnesota Veterans Home - Fergus Falls. Evening Shift, every other weekend.

The Evening shift is 2 : 00pm-10 : 30pm.

The work schedule will include at least 16 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs.

The position is not initially eligible for contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.

Provide direct nursing care to residents, direct and monitor care given by LPNs and CNAs in accordance with current Federal, State, Veterans Administration, and facility standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse, in good standing
• Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care for residents
• Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships
• Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and follow instructions
• Computer experience sufficient to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email
• Ability to make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities
• Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring
• Ability to each self-help skills to residents

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility
• Long-term care experience
• Geriatric care experience
• Experience with MDS assessments

This position requires successful completion of the following :

A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s).
