DutiesandResponsibilities
- Assiststhe radiologist during procedures whenneeded.
- Acts as Lead orSupervisor in their absence by directing patient flow assuring thatresources are matched to the appropriate tasks trouble shootequipment difficulties and place service calls forrepairs.
- Ensures proper darkroomtechniques to include ability to ascertain suboptimal filmprocessing and equipmentmalfunction.
- Follows establishedradiation safety guidelines ALARA (as low as reasonably acceptable)in reference to time distance andshielding.
- Operates a variety ofimaging and fluoroscopic equipment in performing a variety ofimaging examinations.Utilizes proper body mechanics to ensurepatient safety upon moving and / or transferringpatients.
- Participates inorientation and training of assigned staff students andresidents.
- Prepares patient for exami.e. identifying oneself explaining procedures confirming patientID and checking correctness of theorder.
- Prepares room and equipment.Troubleshoots equipment failures and reports problems to theappropriateindividual.
