We are looking for a future caregiver to take on the role of a Supervisor within our world-class team of caregivers. Within this role, you will supervise the daily operational activities of a team of clinical documentation specialists.

Assists the Manager with personnel related duties. Organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the activity of a CDI team.

Assures compliance with CCHS, JCAHO, and other regulatory bodies. Serves as a liaison between CDI and other CCHS Departments.

Monitors performance, provides ongoing education and support, administers disciplinary counseling and makes recommendations consistent with Cleveland Clinic enterprise HIM and CCF policies and procedures.

Responsibilities : Supervises CDI personnel in daily operational activities.Directs the performance of CDI for the purpose of accurate documentation and queries.

Monitors and maintains data on employee compliance with productivity and quality standards and takes appropriate action as needed.

Assists the manager with hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, training, work distribution and flow, and employee engagement.

Administers corrective action as needed.Maintains efficient systems and work flow to meet both CCF and government regulations.

Protects the confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA regulations.Responsible for ongoing development, implementation, processing and maintenance of clinical data computer systems.

Protects the interest of the Clinic with HIM teracts with ITD in the support of systems and processes in the section.Facilitates / trains CDI staff on daily activities.

Monitors and ensures time and attendance policy for the section. Interacts with the CDI Quality and Education Coordinators to support CDI Quality and Education teracts with the Manager of CDI to support the program initiatives and strategic planning goals.

Promotes good morale and cooperation. Encourages others and values their input.Shares information and seeks ways to add value both to the customer and to the team.

Anticipates and responds to changing skills requirements.Seeks opportunities to learn new skills.Actively coaches and encourages team members to do the same.

Successfully integrates the team into CDI process to promote their development.Other duties as assigned.Education : Graduate of accredited school of nursing or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field required.

Bachelor's Degree and / or advanced knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy, physiology and disease process preferred.Certifications : Nursing License in State of Ohio (RN) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or evidence of equivalent competency plexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Work Experience : Minimum two years of managerial / supervisory experience.

A minimum of three years' experience in a CDI environment preferred.Experience in a large healthcare organization preferred.

Knowledge of medical record technology, statistics, and organization sufficient to identify and interpret clinical data, and maintain integrity of the data.

Knowledge of supervisory techniques and methods with the ability to train others in CDI concepts.Advanced experience with PC applications including Windows, 3M and Epic software programs.

Physical Requirements : Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

Ability to work with physical records, such as retrieving and filing them.Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate some locations, ability to move up to 25 lbs.Personal Protective Equipment : Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay RangeMinimum hourly : $33.46Maximum hourly : $51.03The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
